History of the Addison Bakery

In 1939, Harry & Sarah Feldman opened a good old fashioned bakery at 871 N. Marshall St. in Philadelphia. This they did based on their natural and aquired talents at baking delicious breads, cakes and pastries. Their two daughters faithfully worked with them in this fine home-grown retail operation, which grew and grew in popularity.

Marvin Novick became a vital part of the bakery in 1948 and in 1950 married the Feldman's youngest daughter, Dorothy. One year later, Marvin bought their location at 55th & Addison (hence the name). Harry & Sarah retired in 1972, at which time Marvin and Dot bought the entire business.

Steve Novick, Marvin and Dot's son, is now the man behind the wheel of our commumities bakery of choice. He worked with his parents from boyhood upward...now his wife Kim and sons Bill and Adam also work in the business. In fact, the bakery is largely staffed with family members!

The Novicks' continued commitment to a tradition of delicious wholesomeness and quality, along with Rabbinical Supervision, make Addison Bakeries a favorite among folks of all nationalities and persuasions in the Delaware Valley!

The Novick family wishes to thank you for your patronage, and looks forward to serving you & yours in the years ahead!
